Buan Nongki Samarinda

Overview

Buan Nongki Samarinda helps people find somewhere good to sit down in the city. Every place has its photo, opening hours, a short description, and a map showing exactly where it is. You can search by name or pick a district to see only what's nearby. Each place shows a star rating out of five, worked out automatically from everyone's reviews, so the score always stays current. People who sign up can leave their own review and change it later if they want. Meanwhile, the site owner has a separate admin area for adding new places, updating details, and removing reviews that don't belong.

Problem

Looking for a good cafe in Samarinda usually meant scrolling through random social media posts or asking around. There was no single place to see what's near you, check opening hours, or find out whether locals actually liked it.

Solution

I built one website that brings it all together. All the places, reviews, and accounts are stored properly so nothing gets mixed up or duplicated, and ratings update by themselves as people add reviews. Visitors, reviewers, and the admin each see only what they should. That keeps the information tidy and stops anyone from editing things that aren't theirs.

Challenges

The trickiest part was the search. People might type a name, pick a district, do both, or neither and the site has to handle every combination without breaking or slowing down. I had to build the search so it adapts to whatever the visitor actually fills in. The other challenge was making reviews feel fair. If you've already reviewed a place, the site should let you edit what you wrote instead of letting you post twice and it needs to check that properly, not just hide the button.

Result

A working website with 55 cafes and hangout spots already listed across 10 districts in Samarinda. I built the whole thing myself from planning how the information is stored, to the pages people browse, to the admin area behind it.
